The Free State Provincial Government successfully launched the 16 Days of Activism For No Violence Against Women and Children mpo resmi campaign, on November 23, 2018, under this year’s national theme #HearMeToo, at Kaizer Sebothelo Stadium, in Botshabelo.
During the occasion, various government departments and stakeholders made commitments to assist in the development of women, in line with the 2018 sub-theme ‘Women of Fortitude’, which focuses on unlocking women and girls’ lives, reaching for those furthest behind through strengthening both rural and urban activism.The Free State O.R. Tambo marathon will be hosted at the heart of South
Africa in the historic city of Mangaung. The marathon will be hosted in collaboration
with the Free State Sport Confederation (FSSC), Free State Athletics (FSA) and
Achilles Running Club
Amongst the myriad of commitments made on the day, was a commitment to train and mentor 23 identified women in the business of fashion and haute couture. A three day training and mentoring programme, which commenced on 3 December 2018 and continued until 5 December 2018, was facilitated by Mosadi Mmelehi Women Empowerment Programme, based in Bloemfontein.
“We shall work tirelessly to end all forms of abuse, but also ensure that women and youth are also empowered”, said Premier Sisi Ntombela.
